Genesis 38 (King James Version)

Genesis 38

1And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.

2And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name was Shuah; and he took her, and went in unto her.

3And she conceived, and bare a son; and he called his name Er.

4And she conceived again, and bare a son; and she called his name Onan.

5And she yet again conceived, and bare a son; and called his name Shelah: and he was at Chezib, when she bare him.

6And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar.

7And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.

8And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

9And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

10And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

11Then said Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a widow at thy father’s house, till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest peradventure he die also, as his brethren did. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.

12And in process of time the daughter of Shuah Judah’s wife died; and Judah was comforted, and went up unto his sheepshearers to Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.

13And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep.

14And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife.

15When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face.

16And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?

17And he said, I will send thee a kid from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it?

18And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him.

19And she arose, and went away, and laid by her vail from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.

20And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand: but he found her not.

21Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the way side? And they said, There was no harlot in this place.

22And he returned to Judah, and said, I cannot find her; and also the men of the place said, that there was no harlot in this place.

23And Judah said, Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed: behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her.

24And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

25When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff.

26And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.

27And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb.

28And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.

29And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.

30And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand: and his name was called Zarah.

Introduction

The rooms’ division areas all must function together in order for the hotel to maximize efficiency. Each area needs the other in a symbiotic relationship that mirrors a successful sports team: each position working together for the benefit of the entire team.

The engineering and maintenance division

It is a division that maintains the hotel property structure and grounds as well as electrical and mechanical equipment. Every piece of equipment, fixtures and furniture in the guestrooms, hallways, linen and laundry rooms, public areas and employee locker rooms must be in perfect working order at all times.

The number of items that may be in need of repairs in a single guestroom can be substantial: beds, chairs, desks, TVs, radios, lights, doors, toilets, faucets, walls, heating and air conditioning.

It is therefore imperative that good communication exists between the two departments at all times. For instance, if a guestroom lock is broken, maintenance must be notified, the room must be put out of order, the work performed, the area cleaned, and the room put back in vacant-ready status.

The human resource division

This division administrates employees’ paper work, monitors attendance, maintains good relations with labor unions, and ensures employees’ safety and working conditions. When considering personnel staffing communication between this division and housekeeping is vital. For instance housekeeping may be in need of an employee. The human resource fills employee requisition, advertises for the position, pre-screens candidates, and conducts the first interview and checks references. It sends the final candidates to housekeeping for a second interview and hiring selection.

The human resource is involved in orientation of new housekeeping employees that is the company’s philosophies, compensation package, pay schedule, and rules and regulations are explained in detail to the new workers. The human resource also ensures that the new employees fills out all necessary forms related to legal residency, income tax and personal information.

Good communication with human resource will result in hiring right employees to fill housekeeping vacancies.

Food and beverage division

There must be good cooperation regarding the pick up of room service material from guest room areas. Housekeeping must see to it that hallways are free from trays, carts placed by guests and section housekeepers therefore calls to room service must be regularly placed to remind this department to clear all areas.

The laundry room must provide the food and beverage department with clean napery on a daily basis. The laundry manager must request that all the soiled linen be delivered to the laundry room on time, properly sorted out and free from food scraps and table debris.

Furnishing clean uniforms to cooks, waiters and bartenders is usually the responsibility of the housekeeping department and therefore effort must be made to establish good relationship between the departments.

The sales and marketing division

This department sells the product and services offered by a hotel property. The housekeeping must provide the front desk with a listing of rooms that are ready for occupancy so guests can check in. Poor communication between these departments leads to delays in guest check in. And if this happens, the property’s reputation will suffer. The front desk provides housekeeping with night clerk’s room report. It informs housekeeping early in the morning of the status of all guestrooms in the property as it appears on the front desk records.

Cleanliness is one of the most important reasons for guests to choose a particular lodging property whose responsibility falls to housekeeping department. Therefore there must be good communication between sales and housekeeping if customer satisfaction is to be achieved. For instance if sales and marketing has guaranteed late check out, to a large group of guests attending a convention without notifying housekeeping, some of the rooms might not be cleaned in time to be available for a tour group to check in that same evening.

Communication between sales and marketing and housekeeping is also necessary when specific rooms and suites must be available for inspection to meeting planners who are considering the property for a possible convention. If the rooms in question have not been impeccably cleaned, the company executive might well take their business elsewhere.

Accounting division

A hotel’ overall financial health rests solely on its ability to make and collect money. A hotel must be able to track or account for this revenue. Accounting is the process of tracking and analyzing cost and revenue information. A hotel should therefore CPAs staff. Good accounting practices serve to lessen any potential tax and audit implications.

In hotel property the purchasing agent often reports to the controller. The executive housekeeper is communicating with the accounting office when placing orders for equipment and supplies for the department. Housekeeping must provide accounting with all information regarding wages and salaries for instance pay increases, hours worked per week, overtime, bonuses awarded to workers and so on.

The executive housekeeper must also provide accounting with monthly inventory information in order to ascertain expenses of controllable goods and percentage costs. In addition to ensuring a permanent and accurate record of all financial transactions accounting should furnish housekeeping manager or agent with a concise statement of the financial position with regard to the property in his charge, including cost of management and repairs. It enables control to be kept over expenditure and financial success or failure of policy to be measured.

The security division

Security refers to the prevention of fire and other emergencies. There are so many security hazards on the ‘floors’ that liaison is particularly important and the housekeeper cooperates by endeavoring to see that her staff are aware of them and reporting anything of a suspicious nature.

The hotel should ensure that there is good communication between the two departments. It should have one or more security officers on their staff to prevent crime and to protect guests and their staff from such dangers as theft, bomb threat, fire or assault. The security division therefore patrols the property, monitors the supervision equipment and ensures safety and security of guests, visitors and employees.

a certain man was fond of making funny jokes about kenya’s diversoty of tribes. one day he could be heard talking of “our innershore” brothers, the next day our valley brothers, sometimes men and qwomen from plateuas, highlands, lakeside, coastal and even arid people.
one statistical fact about the funnyman’s jokes, was his bias. he found amusemwent in the dirty things only. you could hear him talking about lou’s love for sex and burial cremonies, masaai’s love for blood and meat, kalenjin craving for war, meru’s temper, luyha’s fondness for ugali, chicken and sex, kikuyu’s extraordinary greed for material things and so on. though he had built a career out this , his humour attracted mixed feelings from the subjects.
the royals and extrimists hated him and his comics while the moderates loved him on equal measures.

on one unforgettable occasion he was summoned by the village elder for a number of reasons. the chief wanted to establish his bio data and also insisted he should apologize to the local community. the local people made a mistake to give his ‘light notes’ the seriousness they never deserved. he had claimed/or rather accused of claiming that women from the community of small men were so fond of maasai men athletic figures. this could have been forgiven had he not predicted a pre-death of the community as smaller men had also found refuge in their women. Nelson recalled wepkhulu’s jokes the other day after a chat with kamwaro and his sister juliet.their discussion………..

Working

Borrowing from the formal media house, the basics are reporters, editors, sub editors, correspondents, contributors, authors, news anchors and administrators. reporters, contributors and correspondents acquire information and forward it to authors in raw form. In turn editors and sub editors check any errors, grammatical and others and submit the amended draft to authors/typesetters/administrators. It is then the duty of authors/typesetters to transform the draft copy into acceptable form-according to the standards required by the pocket media and in the territorial boundaries- before giving room for the administrators to assent and post the article for consumers/customers/users to read on the proffered media( provided not tangible) it is also the duty of an administrator to design the textual appearance of the document(font. colour, hading style e.t.c)

Luis Moreno-Ocampo

Luis Moreno-Ocampo
Born 1952
Buenos Aires
Nationality Argentine
Title International Criminal Court Prosecutor
Term 2003-present

Luis Moreno-Ocampo (born 4 June 1952)[citation needed] is an Argentine lawyer who has been the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since 16 June 2003. He previously worked as a prosecutor in Argentina, famously combating corruption and prosecuting human rights abuses by senior military officials. He has also lectured in criminal law and practiced law privately.

Career in Argentina

Moreno-Ocampo graduated from the University of Buenos Aires Law School in 1978, and from 1980 to 1984 he worked as a law clerk in the office of the Solicitor General.

From 1984 to 1992, Moreno-Ocampo worked as a prosecutor in Argentina.[2] He first came to public attention in 1985, as Assistant Prosecutor in the “Trial of the Juntas“—the first time since the Nuremberg Trials that senior military commanders were prosecuted for mass killings.[2][3] Nine senior commanders, including three former heads of state, were prosecuted and five of them were convicted.[2] He served as District Attorney for the Federal Circuit of the City of Buenos Aires from 1987 to 1992, during which time he prosecuted the military commanders responsible for the Falklands War, the leaders of two military rebellions, and dozens of high-profile corruption cases. In 1987, he helped United States prosecutors extradite General Guillermo Suárez Mason to Argentina.

He resigned as a prosecutor in 1992 and established a private law firm, Moreno-Ocampo & Wortman Jofre. He defended several controversial figures, including Diego Maradona, former economics minister Domingo Cavallo, and a priest accused of sexually abusing minors. He represented the victims in extradition proceedings against Nazi war criminal Erich Priebke, and also in the trial of the murderer of Chilean General Carlos Prats.

During this time, he was also an Associate Professor of criminal law at the University of Buenos Aires and a visiting professor at Stanford University and Harvard Law School.[1] He has acted as a consultant to the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the United Nations.[1] He is a former member of the advisory board of Transparency International and a former president of its Latin America and Caribbean office.

During the late 1990s, he starred in a reality television programme, Fórum, la corte del pueblo, in which he arbitrated private disputes.

The International Criminal Court

The International Criminal Court’s headquarters in The Hague

On 21 April 2003, Moreno-Ocampo was elected unopposed as the first Prosecutor of the new International Criminal Court.[2][3] He was sworn in for a nine-year term on 16 June 2003. As of February 2009, he has opened investigations into four situations: Northern Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic and Darfur.[6] The court has issued public arrest warrants for fourteen people; seven of them remain free, two have died, and five are in custody.

Moreno-Ocampo also led an investigation against leaders of the Lord’s Resistance Army, who in 2005 faced arrest warrants by the ICC for crimes against humanity. In October 2006 a media spokesman in the prosecutor’s office filed an internal complaint accusing Moreno-Ocampo of sexual misconduct.A panel of three ICC judges investigated the complaint and found that it was “manifestly unfoundedbut Moreno-Ocampo generated a controversy when he summarily dismissed the staff member who made the complaint. The Administrative Tribunal of the International Labour Organization subsequently awarded the employee almost £120,000 in damages, ruling that Moreno-Ocampo had breached due process and seriously infringed the employee’s rights. The ILO held that the original complaint against Moreno-Ocampo had been made in good faith, and that Moreno-Ocampo should not have participated in the decision to fire the employee as he had a personal interest in the matter.[

Moreno-Ocampo directed an investigation against Germain Katanga and Matthieu Ngudjolo Chui,[10] who received arrest warrants in 2007 and 2008 respectively for crimes against humanity in the Democratic Republic of Congo.[11] In March 2008, according to an Argentine online news report, Moreno-Ocampo explained the FARC, the largest guerrilla group in Colombia, was plausible for an investigation by the International Criminal Court.Moreno-Ocampo began implementing preliminary tests in Colombia, which involved evaluating prosecutions of paramilitary commanders in Colombia, interviews with victims of the FARC, among others.Moreno-Ocampo explained the FARC could be investigated for crimes against humanity. He paid a visit to Colombia in August, after which the ICC launched an investigation on the “support network for FARC rebels outside Colombia.”

The ICC’s first trial, of Congolese militia leader Thomas Lubanga, was suspended on 13 June 2008 when the court ruled that the Prosecutor’s refusal to disclose potentially exculpatory material had breached Lubanga’s right to a fair trial.[13] The Prosecutor had obtained the evidence from the United Nations and other sources on the condition of confidentiality, but the judges ruled that the Prosecutor had incorrectly applied the relevant provision of the Rome Statute and, as a consequence, “the trial process has been ruptured to such a degree that it is now impossible to piece together the constituent elements of a fair trial”.On 2 July 2008, the court ordered Lubanga’s release, on the grounds that “a fair trial of the accused is impossible, and the entire justification for his detention has been removed”but an Appeal Chamber agreed to keep him in custody while the Prosecutor appealed By 18 November 2008, Moreno-Ocampo had agreed to make all the confidential information available to the court, so the Trial Chamber reversed its decision and ordered that the trial could go ahead but Moreno-Ocampo was widely criticised for his actions.

He was also criticised for his decision in July 2008 to publicly charge Omar al-Bashir, the President of Sudan, with genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Antonio Cassese,[22] Rony Brauman[23] and Alex de Waal[24] argued that there was insufficient evidence to charge al-Bashir with genocide. Cassese, a former President of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, had chaired the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on Darfur, which concluded in 2005 that the government of Sudan had not pursued a policy of genocide in Darfur. De Waal argued that “for nineteen years, President Bashir has sat on top of a government that has been responsible for incalculable crimes [...] Two weeks ago, Moreno Ocampo succeeded in accusing Bashir of the crime for which he is not guilty. That is a remarkable feat.”Cassese also argued that if Moreno-Ocampo were serious about prosecuting al-Bashir, he should have issued a sealed request and asked the judges to issue a sealed arrest warrant, to be made public only once al-Bashir traveled abroad, instead of publicly requesting the warrant, allowing al-Bashir to avoid arrest simply by remaining in Sudan.[ In November 2008, Moreno-Ocampo requested arrest warrants for rebels responsible for the murder of members from an international peacekeeping force in Darfur.

Leaders from three Darfur tribes, said to be the victims of war crimes, sued Ocampo for libel, defamation and igniting hatred and tribalism

On Wednesday, 15 December 2010, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Luis Moreno-Ocampo held a press conference at 12:00 (The Hague local time, 14:00 Nairobi local time) to announce the six prime suspects in the Kenya post election violence of 2007. He named suspended minister of Higher education William Ruto, Minister for Industrialisation Henry Kosgey,Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Former police chief Maj Gen Ali Hussein, head of public service Francis Muthaura and journalist Joshua Arap Sang.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

“The Holy Spirit is the bridge to God within you. It is the part of your mind—the part of your Spirit—that is joined with the Mind of God. The Holy Spirit is the Voice for God and acts as a reminder to all of God’s children of the unconditional love that God has for them.

God loves His children so much that He wanted His children to always know that they are safe, they are loved, and they are whole. God extended the Holy Spirit as a way to ensure that God’s children would always know these things. God gave this Voice to His children, and this Voice is now a part of them. It is the eternal perspective of Truth, Love, and Reality that cannot be taken from God’s children. It is the Voice of God instilled within and the ever‑present reminder to God’s children of the Truth of Who and What they are and the Love their Father has for them.

By extending the Holy Spirit, God provided a way to bring His Voice into each of His children as they went out into the world so that they could always remember the Truth of Who and What they are. The Holy Spirit’s function and purpose is to bring God’s Voice to each of God’s children, guiding them, directing them, loving them, and restoring their thinking to God’s.

Little by little, as you hear, recognize, understand, and become aware of the Holy Spirit in different ways—through your thinking, correcting a thought with this Voice, recognizing this Voice in another, sharing this Voice with a friend, and so on— the Holy Spirit is brought into the world and given to each of God’s children. This Voice is recognized in each of God’s children and used as a reminder for God’s children of the Truth so that they can overcome the world.

The Holy Spirit was given to each of God’s Children by God, put within each one, and is now a part of them. It is not to think that the Holy Spirit is separate from you, is really only a part of God, or will one day be separate, because in Truth, the Holy Spirit is a part of you. It has now been blended and melted into you. That is why it is important to recognize this Voice of God in everyone you meet because It is part of them as well.

The Holy Spirit is within each of God’s children and cannot be extracted. It is there as a constant Resource, Companion, and speaker of Truth no matter what you think you have done, what you think you are doing, or what you think you might do. This Voice for Love within you holds no judgments, never condemns, and only remembers your true Perfection. In that is the impossibility of sin or anything related to it.

It is not possible for the Holy Spirit to judge you in any way because this part of God can only see the Truth of who you are and not who you think you are. God’s Voice is within your mind and is ever available to you to restore your thinking to Truth. In any moment you decide that you do not want to participate in the belief of separation—if you decide you want peace, if you decide you want to remember Who you are and What you are— the Holy Spirit is there within you waiting to join with you in Truth. It has been within you since your first step into the world and offers you an alternative to pain and suffering, to fear and loathing, to vengeance and death. This Voice for Love within you offers you Peace, Oneness, Truth, and everlasting Life.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Even though God’s children live in the world and have forgotten their Oneness with God, there is still an inkling left within each child that causes them to have a tiny bit of the memory that they are One with God. Even with all of the thoughts and beliefs that they have acquired that have caused them to think that they are unworthy, God isn’t real, they are fine on their own, or other beliefs that keep them from remembering fully—despite all of that—there is still a glimmering within them that they are One with God. Somewhere deep down, they remember that God is their true Creator and Source Whom they yearn to return Home to.

The words, the perspective, and the love that comes through the Holy Spirit are a reassurance and a promise for that restoration to one day be complete. You are the only one keeping you from it. You are already perfect, worthy, and fully and completely loved by God; you just have to eventually remember that. Whether you remember in this instant, or this instant, or this instant, it doesn’t matter. In each instant that you can remember, you are born. You are born in Reality, not the world.

Truly one gains everything by hearing God because there is no Reality in the world. When one hears the Holy Spirit, they are in Reality for that moment. When one hears the Holy Spirit, they experience validation or proof of what they have always known somewhere in the back of their mind, no matter how buried that knowing may be beneath the accumulated thoughts and beliefs that say otherwise. Hearing God proves to the little spark of hope that was there all along that there is more to life than this.

It is so easy to live in the world, to attempt to succeed and excel in school, to succeed and excel in work, and to make the perfect family, home, and lifestyle. “Lifestyle” here means the right place to live, the right home, furnishings, car, clothing, vacations, or entertainment system. One goes about continuing to accomplish, attain, succeed, and excel in all of these worldly ways until they die. And so many people walk around in the world saying, “Isn’t there more to life than this?”

When one can hear God, they can step out of the need to strive, excel, and succeed, and instead seek peace and love in their hearts, in their minds, in their lives, in their relationships, and in the world so that the life they are living is an expression of God and a remembering of the Oneness that you are with God. This allows you to live a life that has meaning in so many of the moments, encounters, and experiences rather than in the things.

When one talks about false idols, they are talking about the belief that striving to own the perfect entertainment system is more important than striving toward expressing kindness toward their family. Many people put much more energy and resources into creating the perfect entertainment system than they do into showing their family that they love them. Some think they are showing their family that they love them by buying them the right entertainment system. When one has learned that joy or happiness comes from a screen and they experience love when they watch a story on that screen, then it makes sense that the perfect entertainment system is a wonderful way to love one’s family.

Ultimately, what each one seeks from the bottom of their hearts is God’s Love, true Love, the remembrance of their Oneness, the remembrance that God is everything, God is good, and they are within God always, safe and sound, loved and cherished, accepted and understood just as they are. To sit with God with this perspective is so much more fulfilling and rewarding than anything that is on the screen.

What does one gain from hearing the Holy Spirit? They gain themselves. They gain God. They gain everything that really is, everything that really matters, and with that, all the peace and comfort that they can experience.”

When you think of a lens

Doesn’t a double edged sword hit you?

When the reflection shines

Does a magnification miss you?

Maybe disguised in a diminishing figure?

When you think of train

Don’t you see a two sided snail?

Struggling to be nowhere but everywhere

Never assuming its own patience

Maybe driven by a sense of false hope

When you think of a sword

Perhaps you imagine a two-flavoured fruit

Each fighting to outdo the other’s dominance

When you find yourself in a trench

Instead, you hop up and down

You, stand up comedian
Why do you want to kill?
Why do you want to commit murder?
Will you stand the hang man noose?
Stop cracking my ribs
I am pitying you

A wider handkerchief
You call it boob top
A longer one
You refer to it as ‘mini’ skirt
Uncomfortable ‘skin tights’
Hahahaha……hipsters
And those disproportional shorts
You call them…….ahahaha
Whom are you trying to impress?

It makes me laugh
When I see you
Exposing your fatty parts
Do you think wives have no fats?
Stoopy cleavage
Don’t they have breasts?
Mini…..No!, micro skirts
Don’t they have warm thighs?
Surely, stand up comedian
You’re talented

The other day, You
Almost choked me with laughter
When I had you chanting
‘I want to lead this nation’
I almost collapsed
When your adversaries said
She has a clean sheet record
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Placards drawn
As ‘beautiful’ as the president
Then I wondered
Is that real beauty
Phony perhaps, indecent
And trashy to some extent
Ha ha ha ha
You haven’t lost
Your sense of humour

Decency beautifies smartness, gains respect,
enhances style and portrays natural beauty
